PRIBUMI ONLINE, TANJUNG ENIM – From Jabir ibn Abdallah radhiyallahu ‘anhuma narrates, “Rasulullah sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam passed the market while people were around him. He crossed the carcass of a small kid or cut off his ears (defective). He held the ear of the carcass and said:
أيكم يحب أن هذا له بدرهم? فقالوا: ما نحب أنه لنا بشيء وما نصنع به? قال: أتحبون أنه لكم? قالوا: والله, لو كان حيا كان عيبا فيه لأنه أسك فكيف وهو ميت? فقال: فوالله للدنيا أهون على الله من هذا عليكم
“Who of you likes to have these goats by paying for a dirham?” They replied, “We do not want to have it at anything cheap. What can we do with this carcass? “Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam then said,” Do you like the carcass of a young goat to be yours? “” By Allah, even if this goat is still alive, Cut off his ears. Moreover he has become a heap of carrion, “they replied. He also said afterwards, “By Allah, indeed the world is inferior and despicable to God than to the humiliation of this carcass for you.” (Narrated by Muslim no.7344)
Allah Azza wa Jalla, said:
من كان يريد الحيوة الدنيا وزينتها نوف إليهم أعملهم فيها وهم فيها لا يبخسون
“Whoever wants the life of the world and its jewels, We will surely give (full) reward for their work in the world (perfectly) and they in the world will not be harmed.” (Surah Hud 11, verse 15)
“Those are the ones who have not (something) in the Hereafter except the Fire, and vain there what they have earned (in the world) and erased what they have done.” (Surah Hud 11, verse 16)
Know that the love of the world can draw someone from love to Allah Ta’ala and dhikr to Him, whosoever stoned by his property he belongs to the group of people who lose money. And the heart is weak, if it has been neglected from dhikrullah, also too dependent on the world, surely he will be possessed by a demon, easily unsteady, unfit, and difficult to escape from the shackles of the temptations of the world. Satan will deceive him so much that he feels he has done many good things when he has done little or not even done it.
People who love the world will be more likely to make it the ultimate goal of everything, so that he fell in error, that is to make the means as a goal and try to get the world with the practice of the afterlife.
Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:
لو كانت الدنيا تعدل عند الله جناح بعوضة ما سقى كافرا منها شربة ماء
“If the world had value in the sight of Allah even if it matched the value of a wing of mosquitoes, Allah would not give a drink to the Gentile infidels.” (Narrated At-Tirmidhi 2320, asah-shaykh al-Albani rahimahullahu in Ash- Shahihah No. 686)
When the chief, the noble again understand that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has humiliated the world, they are also reluctant to drown in his pleasure. Moreover they know that their Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam lives in a world full of ungodliness and warns his companions from the slander of the world. They also take the world of sekedarnya and remove it in the way of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala as much as possible. They take only sufficient and they leave the neglected.
Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam never told Abdullah ibn’ Umar radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, while holding on to his shoulder-in-law:
كن في الدنيا كأنك غريب أو عابر سبيل
“Be thou in this world as a stranger or even as a passer-traveler.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari No. 6416)
